Tip# 1 - Show up on time, damn it.

There is no faster way to piss off a client then not showing up on time and there is no excuse when you are a consultant because you are the one that proposes what time you will show up for the most part. So it’s doubly retarded when you don’t give yourself enough time to get where you need to be or you flake out. Now sometimes there is just nothing you can do to avoid being late. Maybe another client calls that is worth 30k and there is nothing you can do but drop everything get over there to plug in that power cord they kicked out of the wall. But if for some reason you are going to be late, call, and when you call, have a good damn reason for being late. If you can, explain the situation, and reschedule. This gives you yet another opportunity to SHOW UP ON TIME.
